What Is Alcoholics Anonymous?
Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) is a group of people who share their experience, strength, and hope to help each other recover from alcoholism.
AA is based on mutual support and a set of guiding principles known as the Twelve Steps. It is not a religious organization, has no dues or fees, and is open to anyone with a desire to stop drinking.
You Can Just Listen
There’s no pressure to speak, introduce yourself, or share anything personal. Many newcomers attend their first meetings just to listen.
This is completely normal—and often the easiest way to get started.
