Treasure Valley Intergroup
A unifying service body that supports Alcoholics Anonymous groups across the greater Treasure Valley through communication, cooperation, and shared services.
The Treasure Valley Intergroup serves as a cooperative service body for Alcoholics Anonymous groups throughout the greater Treasure Valley area. Its primary purpose is to strengthen unity among local AA groups while helping carry the message of recovery to those who still suffer. Rather than functioning as a governing authority, Intergroup exists to support, connect, and coordinate services that benefit the fellowship as a whole.
Grounded in the Twelve Traditions of Alcoholics Anonymous, Intergroup operates in a spirit of service, mutual respect, and group conscience. Its work is shaped through discussion, voting, and substantial unanimity, reflecting AA’s democratic principles and commitment to shared responsibility. This approach helps preserve the independence of individual groups while providing a reliable structure for collaboration across the region.
What Intergroup Does
Intergroup plays an active role in maintaining essential services that support both the fellowship and newcomers. These services include helping provide a 24-hour hotline, publishing a monthly newsletter, and supporting volunteer coordination for Twelfth Step calls. It also promotes unity events and other activities that encourage fellowship, connection, and participation among AA members and groups.
In addition, Intergroup helps guide the operation of the Treasure Valley Intergroup Central Office through its steering structure. This relationship ensures that practical service needs, financial stewardship, and communication priorities remain aligned with the needs of the local AA community.
Why It Matters
By bringing groups together in a spirit of service, the Treasure Valley Intergroup helps create a stronger and more accessible recovery network. It preserves AA principles while making sure important resources remain available to the community. Through unity, communication, and service, Intergroup helps support a healthy local fellowship and strengthens the path to recovery for countless individuals and families.
